Dreaming Of My Future Dining Room

Image

I’m dreaming of my future house and thought I would go ahead and “decorate” it with things I love. I found these dining room tables, but, can’t decide which one I like the best. I love the rustic feel of each of these. What do you think? Which is your favorite?

I found each of these at One Kings Lane. I love the variety they offer and these are all on sale right now, which makes me really want to redecorate right now!

What do you call it? Soda, Coke or Pop?

Image

It’s funny how the very same thing can be called something very different depending on where you live. For instance, soda, coke or pop. What do you call it?

I grew up in Illinois and always called it pop. But, I moved South after I graduated from college and, for the last 19 years have only called it Coke.  In just a few weeks, I will be moving to Pennsylvania, which apparently means that I will now have to call it soda.  My poor brain is going to be so confused.  And, besides my slightly Southern accent, I’m sure calling it Coke will reveal that I’m “not from around here.”

So, tell me, where are you from and what do you call it? And, please tell me if you’ve ever heard of Kiel because I sure haven’t.

My little boy is growing up

I hate to admit it, but, my youngest isn’t a baby anymore. He turned 19 months old this week and is doing his best to keep up with his 4-year old brother. He has a fierce independent streak, which I know I should be grateful for even though it makes me sad.

We are getting ready to move (again) and it will be the perfect opportunity to redecorate his bedroom.  I found this adorable Sweet Dreams Wood Sign and know that this has to be a part of his new room. I love the vintage look to this sign and think he will love it too since he loves to point out the moon hanging in the sky whenever he gets the chance.

Parmesan Chicken Bake

Image

I love Pinterest. I find all these amazing looking recipes that make me think I’m a better cook than I really am.  I found this recipe for Parmesan Chicken Bake from My Kitchen Escapades on Pinterest this morning. Not only does it look amazing, but, it also looks extremely easy to make, which is what I like the most.  If a recipe has too many steps, no matter how great it looks, I will never make it because I just don’t like to cook all that much. But, I do love to eat!

I’m pretty excited about finding this recipe right now too. We bought chicken breasts on sale at Harris Teeter last week. Usually, we break them down into individual breasts before putting them in the freezer so we don’t have to cook them all at once. Well, my husband was apparently distracted and put the chicken packages in the freezer without separating them. So, I’ve been looking for a way to cook all this chicken at one time and this looks like the perfect solution!

You may already have all the ingredients you need for this in your fridge and pantry too — chicken breasts, light mayo or greek yogurt, fresh parmesan cheese, seasoning salt, pepper and garlic powder.

Please visit My Kitchen Escapades for the full recipe and instructions. If you try this, let me know what you think!

What inspires you to decorate your home?

One Kings Lane just released this wonderful video (at the bottom of my post) that has completely inspired me to re-look at my home to see how I can update it. What I love about the short clip is how they don’t remodel the entire room, just a few pieces here and there to give the room an entirely new feel! One Kings Lane has new sales pop up all throughout the week and each sale lasts 72 hours, so when you see an item, don’t wait! They offer so many unique styles from fantastic brand names at great prices…head over and check them out today: One Kings Lane. And watch their new quick video here:

It’s finally fall!

I love fall! I’d have to say it’s my favorite time of the year. I love seeing the leaves change color. I love the cooler weather. I love that I can wear sweatshirts and shorts together. I love that it’s football season. I especially love decorating for fall. Fall means pumpkins and all the beautiful fall colors!

And, I love this adorable pumpkin chalkboard. This would be so cute displayed at a party with a fun message or the menu for your Halloween party. How would you use this to accent your fall decorations? Click here for this adorable pumpkin — http://bit.ly/18opyte
